Preparing a New Generation of Entrepreneurs and Innovators
What's New in Technology Commercialization
Successful commercialization of technology requires not only technical understanding, but also a basic foundation in management of bringing the product to market by developing a business plan, obtaining funding, staffing and managing the enterprise, and understanding how to value and protect intellectual property. Technologies with the potential for commercialization arise in many technological domains, but must undergo similar processes to reach the market.
The Lally School has developed a unique Technology Commercialization & Entrepreneurship (TC & E) graduate program that combines in-depth study in a technical area in any one of the 11 collaborating Rensselaer departments with a business/management foundation at Lally, and a specialized module in law applicable to tech commercialization (law of corporations, contract law, and intellectual property law) at Albany Law School.
Panel Discussion followed by an Entrepreneurial Showcase and Reception
DISCOVER the cross-campus collaboration at Rensselaer that’s opening new educational and career opportunities to students in science, technology, engineering and business.
Technology offers a key source of competitive advantage in today’s global economy when combined with innovation and entrepreneurship. Yet every successful entrepreneur knows that technology commercialization demands both the technical understanding and the management “know-how” to move a product to market.
TAP INTO the unique Technology Commercialization & Entrepreneurship (TC&E) graduate program that leverages Rensselaer’s science and engineering excellence with legal and management fundamentals at Albany Law School and the Lally School of Management & Technology—one of U.S. News & World Report’s top-ranked business schools in entrepreneurship.
MEET student entrepreneurs and innovators in engineering, science, and business, who are moving their ideas through the commercialization process. An Entrepreneur Showcase will highlight new ventures from alternative energy to video gaming and information management.
