Bapst, a Program Manager at the Department of Homeland Security in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, was nominated for managing the Enterprise Data Management Office, which coordinates the data collected, managed and shared across DHS’s 22 components.  Bapst also oversees the budget for the Office of Applied Technology (OAT), where she was responsible for tightening up OAT’s acquisition process, with 98 percent of projects now completed on schedule.

The annual Rising Star awards are presented by the 1105 Government Information Group, publisher of Federal Computer Week, Government Computer News, and  Washington Technology, to public and private sector employees in the federal IT community who have gone above and beyond their job descriptions to make a lasting impact in their organization.  Supervisors or co-workers submit nominations for the awards.   The 2009 winners were chosen from among more than 160 nominations.  Bapst describes the award as a “Big honor for us techies in the Federal IT community.”  Read Christina’s profile.
