As an undergraduate in Guyana, Saralise Ming MBA PF’11 worked in the R&D department of Sterling Products Ltd., the local ice cream company. Saralise reports, “My research project was to develop ice cream flavored with local fruits only. The company already produced fruit flavored ice creams using imported artificial flavorings, but wanted a line of premium, naturally-flavored products. I worked specifically with four fruits and incorporated these fruits in different forms: puree, juice and pieces. I am delighted to mention that my premium mango puree ice cream was launched March 6th in Guyana, with more flavors to follow soon. It is the first locally produced naturally flavored ice cream in Guyana.”
